When I started my business, Healthcare Print and Packaging, it seemed like finally the right time to throw myself into a project I had dreamed about for at least the 10 years. Now 6 months on and the work is starting to come in the plans, so carefully made and checked and doubled checked over the last year are proving their worth. P/L, cashflow, budgets etc etc the list is almost endless.
However 1 thing I never envisaged is that we could be ever get so far as to shortlisted in our first year for a business award!
Medilink an umbrella organisation for East Midlands Pharma and Biotech companies, as well as their support services have "whittled" down their list to 3 for "Start Up" of the year. I remain convinced that there must have only been 3 entrants but regardless of that and the fact that we have no hope of winning it has really put a huge smile on my face!
Fortunately the "Ceremony" is not a formal black tie affair as that would be all too surreal but none the less it is fantastic that somebody has taken a look at what we do and thought ~ "They're on to something there!"
Thankfully the quality of the other nominees (I have checked them thoroughly!) means that there is no chance of me having a Gwyneth Paltrow moment but the free publicity is something that I will reveal in.
